In the spirit of Halloween, we will take a self guided tour through one of the areas most famous cemeteries.
Founded in 1857, Glenwood is truly Flint's historic cemetery, listed on the Michigan Register of Historic Places in 1989 and the National Register of Historic Places in 2010.
Randa will be our tour guide of Glenwood as it reveals its spectacular funerary art and architecture along with the names of citizens who made Flint great, including lumber barons, civil war veterans, two Governors, one Lt. Governor, 39 Flint mayors and pioneers of the carriage and automobile industries including J. Dallas Dort and Charles Stewart Mott.
Now a certified level 1 arboretum, Glenwood covers 47 acres with over 1,000 trees representing 57 species.
