We will be introduced to the art of melting glass rods with tabletop torches and using hand tools and gravity to create beautiful glass forms. This hands-on workshop serves as the ideal introduction to bead making. Basic supplies are included and we will take home a bead that we create!

What to Expect:
This workshop will take place in Studio 15 of the Flint Institute of Arts art school located inside the main building. Studio space is extremely limited and classes fill up fast. Register early to guarantee your seat!

Required supplies for this program:
Flameworking course fees include necessary tools and supplies. Additional or specialty glass may be purchased from instructor.
Instructor:
Anita Spencer
Anita Spencer holds a BA in Art Education from Eastern Michigan University. She taught K-6 in the Lapeer Public Schools for 30 years and exhibits fused and lamp-worked glass regionally.
